ACS: ATTESTATION OF COLLEGE STUDIES
EWA.1G COMMERCIAL AIR TRANSPORT PILOT – HELICOPTER CPL
18 to 24 months program
A Ministry of Education accredited Commercial Pilot Licence Helicopter program.
Select Aviation College is one of the very few flight schools in Canada to offer an aviation ACS (Attestation of College Studies). This program leads to the associated licenses, ratings and a college level certificate. International students looking to work locally as a pilot after graduation will benefit from the eligibility for the up-to-3-year Canada Post Graduate Work Permit.
The commercial helicopter flight training program is defined by Transport Canada under the principles of “competence, ease and security.” The flights are structured so that students master hover flight.
The first solo will be authorized when all emergencies have been shown and successfully performed by the student, after around 25-30 hours. Then the student will practice advanced landings and takeoffs, navigation, diversions, steep turns, landing in confined areas and slopes, before finishing off with instrument flight instruction.
The program is divided into 3 sessions spread over a period of 18 to 24 months. The duration of each session varies.
- The first session (PPHEL written exam + PPL flight test): 50 hours of flight.
- The second session (CPLHEL written exam + CPL flight test): 50 hours of flight.
- Third session (Survival Experience + Night Rating + Operations internship): 35 hours of flight including 25 hours for free.
- More than 765 hours of theory distributed through the various sessions.
All flights in this program are made on the Robinson R44 and Bell 206 helicopters.
