Flight dispatcher

Flight dispatcher works at college reception. He/she ensures the smooth running of the flight depending on the weather and air traffic. He/she supervises the departures and arrivals of aircraft, while monitoring aircraft in flight. The flight dispatcher must ensure the compliance of each aircraft leaving in flight by validating the technical booklets. He/she may be called upon to do ramp duties such as aircraft refueling or administrative duties, as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure the opening or closing of the college
Make entries and follow up on each activity in college
Track aircraft in flight
Ensure constant monitoring of weather conditions
Ensure aircraft compliance
Complete aircraft technical logs
Enforce health protocol
Refuel planes
Assist students and instructors with aircraft management on the ramp

Required skills

Resourcefulness
Ability to work with a computerized system
Be able to work under pressure
Good judgement
English spoken and written
French an asset

Qualifications and expertise required

PPL License
Demonstrate enthusiasm to evolve within the college team
Demonstrated professional behavior during training

Working conditions

The flight dispatcher is present 1 hour before the first college activities and ends 1 hour after the last college activity. The work schedule may vary depending on the weather or the season. In high season, the day is separated into two shifts, approximately from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
